Stories inspire people to take action. Animated videos are informative, easy to share on social media, and use narrative as a tool to deliver important messages. No matter how big or small your work is, what you have to say matters. Nonprofit organizations often have limited budgets, but this doesn't mean we still can't make powerful animations. We can use techniques to simplify illustration and animation styles so we can turn work around quickly and affordably.
The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley
This 10-part video series uses research-based insights to guide kids toward making compassionate choices that serve the greater good. We made a unique video teaching parents about each of the most important attributes in raising children: Gratitude, Generosity, Purpose, Reliability, Honesty, Humility, Love, Forgiveness and Compassion.
Stephen Wise Free Synagogue
This video announced a unique program offering in-home religious education catered specifically to a student’s strengths and interests. Our animation was used to explain how the program works, and to generate interest within the Synagogue’s community in Manhattan.
SF Tenants and Families
We partnered with a coalition of San Francisco community and labor organizations fighting to keep SF a place where all people, not just the rich and the powerful, can live, work, and thrive. This video explains how Ranked Choice voting works, making it easy for voters to choose their candidates in the 2018 mayoral election.
The Mexican Museum
In the heart of San Francisco, the Mexican Museum found a new permanent home to house its incredible collection. This video was used to promote new membership, lifetime sponsorship, and the sales of Museum memorabilia. Set to open doors in the winter of 2021, the video was used on TMM’s social channels and email campaigns.
California Faculty Association
Ready to Strike! This video was produced quickly and affordably to inspire students, teachers and faculty of the California State University (CSU) system to join the fight to raise faculty salaries. The union later hired us to make a second animation (Rainy Days for the CSU) protesting the rise of tuition and rallying viewers to a demonstration in Sacramento.
San Francisco Jewish Film Festival
Any show should start with style. Fluent Studios teamed with the Jewish Film Festival to create an upbeat animated short that opened the event with whimsy and elegance.
Capital & Main
Starring former United States Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, this awareness-raising video was a hit on social media. A lighthearted take on a serious issue, Reich explains the massive state of inequality right here in the Golden State. Co-produced with Leighton Woodhouse.
Courage California
Courage California, a progressive political organization, created The People’s Report Card—a tool designed to help Californians learn about votes cast by their elected representatives in the State Assembly and Senate. This explainer video describes the detailed process Courage California underwent to assign each representative a Courage Score.
The Kaiser Family Foundation
One of our first nonprofit clients, the Kaiser Family Foundation hired us to animate the branding for their Greater than AIDS campaign.
